Privacy Policy

not2day ("the app") is a sobriety support tool. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, what we don't collect, and how the app works.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identity
• We do not create user accounts
• We do not store your location — coordinates are processed in the moment and discarded (see "Location" below for exactly where they are sent)
• We do not track your usage or behavior
• We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers
• We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs
• We do not collect your sobriety data, check-ins, reasons, or reflections — these exist only on your device

What Stays on Your Device Only

The following data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device:

• Your sobriety start date and day count
• Your check-in responses
• Your personal reasons for not drinking
• Your saved contacts
• Your personal reflections
• App settings and language preference

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser data.

Location — exactly what happens

The app never requests your location in the background. Location is used only when you tap "Find help nearby" and your browser asks for permission. If you tap Allow, your coordinates are sent to exactly two places:

• Our meeting-search function (hosted on Netlify) — to find AA meetings and help centers near you. Coordinates are used for the search and are not stored.
• BigDataCloud reverse-geocoding service — to detect which country you are in, so the app can show the correct local helplines and language. Only your coordinates are sent; no identity, no account, nothing else. Coordinates are not stored by us.

If you deny location access, the app still works — it falls back to your browser's language and region settings, which never leave your device.

Technical services

Like almost every website and app, not2day relies on some infrastructure that technically sees your IP address when your device connects to it:

• Netlify hosts the app and keeps standard, short-lived server logs (as any web host does)
• Google Fonts serves the app's typeface; your browser requests the font file from Google's servers

Neither receives your sobriety data, check-ins, contacts, or reasons — those never leave your device.

AA Meeting Data

The app uses publicly available AA meeting information to show meetings near you. This data includes meeting names, times, and general locations as published publicly by AA intergroups. No personal information about AA members is collected or displayed.

AA Anonymity

We fully respect AA's Tradition 11 — anonymity at the public level. The app does not identify, track, or expose individual AA members in any way.

Children

The app is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
